Courtney Delano West is a New York State (United States of America) barred attorney. His legal practice includes international commercial litigation, international business transactions, FinTech Law, IPOs, ICOs, and M&A.


Education:
Mr. West received his JD, cum laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. While at Cooley Law, he was senior associate editor for both the Law Review and the Journal of Practical and Clinical Law. Mr. West received his MA from St. John’s University and his BA from Pace University, both in New York City, USA. He studied international business law in Toronto, Canada at the University of St. Michael’s College and in Cape Town, South Africa at the University of Western Cape; and international contract drafting in Melbourne, Australia at Monash Law School.


Before joining Anderson & Anderson LLP, Mr. West was the Principal Attorney and General Counsel at the Law Office of Courtney Delano West, PLLC, in New York, USA. He provided corporate formation, intellectual property, contract drafting and negotiating, and business-strategy services for start-ups, small businesses, non-profits, creative artists, and entrepreneurs within the emerging business, entertainment arts, and technology industries.


Before he founded the Law Office of Courtney Delano West, Mr. West was a Contracts Specialist at Verisk Health; a Contracts Attorney at Capco North America, a financial consulting firm; and a Law Clerk at the Business and Legal Affairs Department at Black Entertainment Television (BET) in Washington, DC., a subsidiary of Viacom, Inc.

Mr. West is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, the Caribbean Attorney Network, and the Bronx County Bar Association.

Volunteer Experience:
Mr. West is dedicated to the eradication of modern-day slavery. He was a United Nations Representative for Media 4 Humanity and Global Hope Network International, two non-profit organizations dedicated to the eradication of child-sex trafficking and child exploitation. Mr. West also organized and led lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, to advocate in favor of HR 2744, the Child Sex Trafficking Data and Response Act of 2013. He was also a research volunteer for Child Wise Australia, an anti-human trafficking organization dedicated to eradicating child-sex trafficking in Australia and South-East Asia.
